Louisiana Scholarship Program – GATOR 

Student applications for the 2025-2026 school year will open on March 1 and will be available at lagator.la.gov. The deadline to apply is April 15, 2025.

Although the application takes less than five minutes to complete online or on a mobile device, here’s how you can prepare in advance:

Check Your Eligibility:

·    Review the LA GATOR eligibility requirements to ensure you qualify.

·    Use the eligibility pre-screener to check your status. Please note that this is not the official application—you must still submit the full application when it opens on March 1.

Gather Required Documents and Information:

Residency Proof: State ID or Driver’s License + any two (2) of the below items:

·    Utility bill (electric, water, gas)

·    Mortgage statement (past year)

·    Bill of sale

·    Lease agreement

Any combination is acceptable, including two (2) different utility bills

Income*:

·    1040 Tax Form (2023 or 2024 Federal Taxes)

Student Documents:

·    Child’s Birth Certificate

Other Necessary Information:

·    Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) (Parent/Guardian)

·    Social Security Number (SSN) (Each student applying)

·    LASID Number (for special education students; this an be found on the valid evaluation and/or IEP developed by a Local Educational Agency.)

ARETE Scholars Program
The 2025-26 scholarship application season will open February 25th at 9:00am, and applications will be available only via our websiteThe current deadline for all families to apply is May 31st, 2025 (or sooner if application limit reaches 4000; check website for updates).  
 
Current Arete families must reapply. 

2025-26 Maximum Award Amounts:  Maximum award amounts for the 2025-26 school year are $4,400 for grades K-8 and $4,950 for grades 9-12.

Required Documents:  Applications are not considered complete until all required documentation has been submitted with their application. A complete list of required documents can be found HERE

PLEASE NOTE

    • Applications must be started only through our website.
    • Applicants will then be directed to their TADS account. Applicants will log into their existing account, select “Add School/Scholarship,” search for Arete Louisiana, select and add the Arete Scholarship to their application.  
    • Once Arete is added, the applicant will complete the additional questions required by Arete Scholars. Additional documentation will also be required. Applications are not considered complete and cannot be processed until these questions are completed, and all required documents are submitted.
